As Aventa grows, we are building a high-calibre delivery team to support operational assurance and improvement programs within major mining organisations. We are seeking experienced Senior Consultants for an immediate start to lead structured delivery engagements in complex operational environments.

These roles are fixed term through to 30 June 2026, aligned to funded client programs, with potential for extension depending on project continuation.

About the role

This is a senior, delivery-critical role within a small, high-trust team.

In the near term, you will play a senior delivery role within Aventa’s internal assurance team, supporting structured delivery across risk and assurance work. You will drive internal review, synthesis, and evidence-based outputs across defined work packages.

You will work day‑to‑day with the Program Lead and a supporting analyst, maintaining quality, structure, and delivery cadence across the project.

This role suits someone who combines technical and operational credibility with strong analytical and synthesis capability. You value clarity over noise, enjoy structured delivery, and can operate confidently in complex, fast-moving environments.

What you’ll be doing

Leadership and facilitation:

• Take senior ownership of defined components of the risk and assurance scope, driving day-to-day structured delivery under the guidance of the Program Lead.

• Support the Program Lead in preparing for structured interviews and assurance activities, ensuring clarity of materials, evidence traceability, and structured follow‑through.

• Guide sampling, deep dives, and thematic analysis.

• Drive alignment on scope interpretation, risk framing, and rating calibration.

• Maintain independence of judgement and uphold structured assurance discipline, including appropriate challenge and escalation where required.

Technical review and synthesis:

• Review and interpret operational, technical, governance, and control documentation.

• Assess alignment to standards, procedures, and risk frameworks.

• Identify control gaps, systemic weaknesses, and improvement opportunities.

• Translate complex technical material into clear, defensible findings.

Reporting and executive engagement:

• Develop structured draft findings and executive summaries for review by the Program Lead.

• Ensure clarity of logic, traceability of evidence, and defensibility of conclusions.

• Support preparation for close‑out and validation sessions led by the Program Director.

• Support calibration discussions across audits to ensure consistency.

Team contribution:

• Provide direction and oversight to supporting analysts.

• Maintain delivery cadence across tight timeframes.

• Contribute to strengthening Aventa’s assurance methodology and templates.

Contribute to other advisory and delivery engagements across Aventa as required, aligned to capability and business priorities.

About you

You’ll be comfortable engaging internally with senior colleagues, analysing complex material, and contributing clear insights that drive delivery momentum. You separate signal from noise and bring clarity to ambiguity.

Essential:

• Demonstrated experience leading structured delivery, review, or advisory engagements within complex operational environments.

• Ability to work confidently with internal senior team members, contributing clear insights, structured analysis, and well‑reasoned recommendations to support delivery.

• Comfortable operating in fast-paced environments with incomplete information and evolving inputs.

• Strong judgement in assessing risk, controls, governance, or operational performance.

• Ability to synthesise large volumes of technical or operational information into clear, defensible insights and executive-level reporting.

• Comfortable operating autonomously within a lean, high-accountability team environment.

• High standards of professionalism, discretion, and independence when working in sensitive operational settings.

Desirable:

• Experience in mining, energy, infrastructure, or other asset-intensive industries.

• Background in engineering, technical disciplines, risk, or operational leadership.

• Exposure to structured assurance, audit, or control-based review environments.

• Experience working across multiple sites or complex organisational structures.

• Familiarity with recognised risk or governance frameworks.
